These buldak noodles have been trending all over social media recently. Some may believe they are an enjoyable meal, while others believe they are tasteless, so I decided to find out.
Buldak Noodles are noodles that originate in Korea; they differ from all flavors like Buldak Ramen Rose, Buldak Ramen Original, and Buldak Ramen Habanero Lime.
The first detail to note, however, is that Denmark has banned these noodles from their country due to the “risk of acute poisoning” and “a health hazard,” according to Newsweek. Specifically, Denmark has shown that they’re not standing for the amount of chili in these noodles.
Henrik Dammand Nielsen, head of the Danish Food and Drug Administration told Newsweek, “Chili in large quantities poses a risk to children and frail adults in particular. Possible symptoms include burning and discomfort, nausea, vomiting and high blood pressure.”
These noodles could potentially be another health caution that people now have to worry about.
In addition, Buldak noodles can range from 450-580 calories! The Buldak Original Pouch Noodles contains a total of 560 calories with 1,630mg of sodium, when on average, a human is supposed to only intake no more than 2,300mg a day, according to the American Heart Association.
Although these noodles could potentially be made healthier, as recipe blogger Eliya has made a recipe on how to make them different so that foodies who work out and/or are dieting can enjoy them too.
This meal appears to be a great on-the-go meal if you’re rushing, your stomach is grumbling, and you only have freezer foods.
These noodles could also potentially ensure that a person is full throughout the rest of the day, and they can vary from all kinds of flavors so that everyone can enjoy the foods from their brand.
Kevin Gibson, an online blogger, writes that, “Ramen usually dents my hunger and simply gets me to the next meal, but I got to the point where I was feeling full by the time I got to the end of my bowl of Buldak. Not bad for packaged Ramen.”
You could customize these noodles, if needed. Some people on TikTok have created recipes like adding cheese or green onions to give them some flavor.
Unfortunately, I’ve had the displeasure of trying the Buldak Ramen Original flavor, and these noodles do live up to the name “spicy.”
There was no flavor to them, my nose was running by the end of my meal due to the amount of spice, my stomach was hurting because of all the calories, but there was no enjoyment to it because of the tasteless flavor.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Buldak noodles, unless you enjoy the flavor of nothing but spice and want to end up with a stomach ache.
