The chocolate bar from Dubai, first created by Fix Dessert Shop, has gone viral over its crunchy, creamy texture. Inside the bar is a unique green filling, containing kataifi and pistachio paste, coated over high-quality chocolate.
According to Ali Domrongchai of The Kitchn, “It’s so creamy yet crunchy, and after taking my first bite I totally understood how it went viral in the first place.”
However, while the bar may look tasty online, Domrongchai mentions that she was “taken aback by the price.”
The price has been a major concern due to the rich ingredients and overseas shipping fees.
Kristina Vänni from Taste of Home noted how she wasn’t disposed to pay the price of the bar: “I wasn’t willing to foot the bill for overseas shipping, and even knock-offs at bakeries in the U.S. would sell out quickly.”
Although, due to this problem, Vänni continues explaining how these knock-offs have their own special components.
This is an important selling point for the Dubai Chocolate Bar because due to the creation of these replicas, it lures people to finally have the chance to try it.
“I caught a hot tip that my local Costco was getting a shipment of its own version of Dubai chocolate. I jumped at the chance to finally sample it for myself. It was everything I hoped for without breaking the bank!” writes Vänni.
Plenty of these off-brand bars are hopping on the trend and they can be found anywhere like grocery stores, online, and retailers.
However, Emily Hunt from TastingTable commented that all the bars she tried “tasted starkly different from one another.”
Hunt also describes that some of the bars she tried were “subtle” or “boasted a thick and creamy center.”
Moreover, another major selling point of the chocolate bar is that it’s hefty-sized. Due to it being substantial, it sets off its price as it comprises a smooth, thick filling.
It has a perfect variety of flavors and texture, making it incomparable to other chocolate bars. When tasting this bar, it creates a sensational experience, attracting you to buy more.
